Charges

There is no fixed charge for a wedding but there are some charges which you would have to pay:

for the registrar: £45
for the organist: £40
it is customary to give a monetary gift to the priest [at your choice]
a contribution to the parish is always welcome [at your choice]

Flowers

With regard to flowers, our flower team do prepare beautiful flowers for weddings and a price can be negotiated directly with them. Alternatively, you can ask a florist to prepare flowers for you but, with either of these options, you would need to consult with Winnie Poland on 01228 532440.

Orders of Service

It is possible to negotiate for your order of service to be prepared for you or for us to supply a printer with the required format for the inside of an order of service.

Booking your wedding

Before booking anything else for your wedding, it is advisable to contact the parish priest to ensure that the church and the priest ARE available on your chosen date. Spiritual preparation for your wedding as well as careful preparation of your wedding liturgy is a vital part of your preparations and you will need to meet with the priest several times for these preparations.

Marriage Care

The local branch of Marriage Care offers preparation days for couples in Carlisle intending to marry in the Catholic Church. These are usually held on a Sunday in February. The local organiser will contact you well in advance and advise you of the choice of dates. We strongly encourage couples to avail themselves of this opportunity.
